Jennifer D'Attilio, M.S., CCC-SLP has served as the Director of Speech and Language Services at Central Coast Language and Learning since the inception of the company in 2003 and previously as the Clinical Coordinator of the Speech Pathology Department at Natividad Medical Center where she facilitated the first neurodevelopmental team in the NICU. This experience allowed her expertise in pediatric feeding and swallowing for pre-mature and at-risk infants who suffer from feeding disorders. She is certified in SOFFI®: Supporting Oral Feeding in Fragile Infants, an integrated approach to supporting oral feeding in preterm and in infants who have complex medical issues, both in the NICU and in the early intervention setting, Feeders and Growers® approach to baby led weaning, and extensive training in the newest techniques to support families facing feeding challenges. She now brings her feeding expertise to new mothers struggling with breast feeding and bottle feeding, and supporting families with high-risk infants dealing with complex feeding disorders working with the entire feeding team to support family goals. She also has a passion for voice treatment and specifically in voice treatment for patients with Parkinson's disease. After her father faced voice changes after battling Parkinson's disease, Jennifer founded the first local Speak Out!® group in the Monterey area. This group therapy program continues to help those in her community access their intentional voices. She continues to treat adults suffering from voice disorders, aphasia, dysphagia, memory deficits and communication difficulties. She is an instructor for San Jose State University's Department of Speech and Language Pathology for pediatric feeding and swallowing, supervises graduate students and is passionate about mentorship for clinical fellowships. Jennifer has provided local and national trainings at several ASHA conventions, CSHA conventions, and local organizations on best practices in early intervention, private practice issues, feeding and swallowing, as well as parent training and coaching. Her passion remains in bringing the highest quality services to the community through leadership of a dynamic team of professionals.
Katelin is a Santa Cruz native and currently enjoys living in the Aptos hills. She received her bachelor's degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from San Diego State University and graduated summa cum laude with a master's degree in Communication Disorders from Emerson College. She enjoys working with people of all ages with communication and swallowing disorders and has gained experience through a variety of settings including schools, private practices, long-term care, and inpatient neuro-rehabilitative facilities. Katelin is bilingual in English and Spanish and strives to provide culturally competent, patient-and family-centered care to ensure every step of the therapeutic process is collaborative and beneficial for all members. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two Mini Australian Shepherds, hiking, sailing, and traveling.
Jennifer is a bilingual speech-language pathologist from San Diego, California. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from California Baptist University and worked as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant before obtaining her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from California State University, San Marcos. She values connection, sensory regulation, and neurodiversity affirming practices. She is passionate about collaborating with other professionals and caregivers to ensure comprehensive and holistic care that addresses each child's unique needs. Jennifer enjoys working with early intervention patients and their families to ensure confidence in carryover of skills at home and in everyday scenarios. She is an SOS trained feeding therapist and is specializes in childhood apraxia of speech. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs, going to Disneyland, building LEGOs, or puzzles.
Maria is a native of Monterey, Calif. She graduated summa cum laude with a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of the Pacific. She is a board-certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the California Speech-Language-Hearing-Association. She has received introductory training in Positive Behavior and the Orton-Gillingham Approach for literacy. Maria has been with the Central Coast Language and Learning Center since completing her clinical fellowship. She currently works as a full-time therapist in addition to fostering the growth of SLP graduate students and SLPAs by lending her wisdom and knowledge in a supervisory capacity. Although Maria has some experience working in public schools, acute rehabilitation, and post-acute care, the vast majority of her experience lies in the private clinic setting. Her true passion is in providing remote, or in person services to the pediatric population with particular emphasis on school-age children. Maria believes in taking a semi structured, play-based approach to speech and language development to make learning fun, motivating, and meaningful. Areas of interest include speech sound disorders, phonological/phonemic awareness, and language-based learning disabilities.
Olivia is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who graduated from the University of New Hampshire. She has spent the past three years working in outpatient pediatric settings in Oceanside, Calif., where she developed a strong foundation in family-centered, evidence-based care. She is excited to be returning to New Hampshire to continue her work while being closer to family. Her clinical interests include early intervention, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), childhood apraxia of speech, and Gestalt Language Processing. She has completed specialized continuing education in various AAC systems (e.g., PRC-Saltillo, Tobii Dynavox), as well as DTTC (Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing) approach for apraxia, and over 25 hours of training in orofacial myofunctional disorders. Olivia is passionate about delivering evidence-based, individualized therapy that supports meaningful communication for each child and their family. Outside of work, she enjoys camping with her dogs and exploring local coffee shops with her husband.
Jacqueline is a first-generation Mexican American and bilingual speech-language pathologist from Northern New Mexico. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders and a Bachelor of Science in Spanish before completing her master's degree in Communication Disorders at New Mexico State University. She has extensive experience working with adults in rehabilitation hospitals and skilled nursing facilities, where she treated cognitive-communication disorders, dysphagia, and speech-language impairments related to strokes and other neurologic conditions. While her foundation is in adult neurorehabilitation, she is also passionate about expanding her work with pediatric populations. As someone who grew up navigating two languages and cultures, Jacqueline was inspired to become a speech pathologist to help bilingual families feel seen, supported, and empowered. She is especially drawn to parent coaching and enjoys equipping caregivers with tools and confidence to support their child's communication in everyday routines. She also practices from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective and is a strong advocate for bilingual children and culturally responsive care. In her free time, she enjoys weightlifting, running, and reading fantasy books—always with Taylor Swift playing in the background.
Leah is an East Coast native, who received her B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Penn State University and her master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from Loyola University Maryland. Leah is certified by the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association and throughout her career has gained speech and language treatment and team leadership experience in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing and long-term care, schools, and clinic-based settings. Along with treatment, Leah has had the privilege of supervising SLPAs, working with students, and acting as a family educator. Leah's passion in the field of Speech Language Pathology spans many different diagnoses and ages, from early intervention to dementia care and swallowing disorders. Leah enjoys incorporating families into the plan of care to generalize function to all aspects of life and to empower caregivers to continue the progress made in therapy in the home environment. In her spare time, Leah loves hiking, cooking, and spending time with her husband and family.
Deborah became a Speech Language Pathologist after going through speech therapy herself and later seeing positive interactions between an SLP and occupational therapy services for a family friend. She wanted to be part of a team that helped others with speech and language difficulties. Deborah graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with her degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and spent two years as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant before obtaining her Masters in Speech Pathology from Pacific University. She has worked in both clinical and school settings with a primary focus on helping individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Deborah has advanced SLP training in TalkTools Feeding First and myofunctional training by Linda D'Onofrio. Deborah is an English-Spanish bilingual and enjoys spending her free time with friends, baking and cooking new recipes, and spending time with her dog Blue.
Sarah lived her whole life in New Mexico and graduated with honors at New Mexico State University in the field of Communication Disorders. She found a passion for treating bilingual children through her experience working at an early intervention clinic where most of the population spoke both English and Spanish. She has gained experience working with children and adults with a variety of disorders at her university clinic. Her experience working with children from birth to three years old has influenced her special interest in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. Her favorite thing about working as a teletherapist is the ability to glimpse into the lives of the family and provide specialized and detailed strategies and treatment solutions that apply to each family. Coaching and empowering parents is her favorite part of being a SLP. In her spare time, Sarah likes to read, paint, and spend time with her husband.
Maribel is a bilingual medical speech pathologist certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), with a master's degree in Communication Disorders from New Mexico State University. She has extensive experience serving both pediatric and adult populations across medical, educational, and home-based settings. Maribel specializes in swallowing and feeding disorders, fluency, social communication, articulation, language disorders, early intervention, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She also incorporates integrative approaches such as Myofascial Release and Craniosacral Therapy into her practice. As a certified VitalStim provider with advanced training in the McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Program (MDTP), Maribel is dedicated to providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive care that promotes meaningful, functional outcomes for diverse populations. Outside of her clinical work, Maribel finds joy in music, nature, hiking, fishing, scenic drives, and — most of all — spending time with her family.
Tiffany is a native of New Jersey. She received a bachelor's degree from New York University in Speech Language Pathology and graduated with honors with a master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Kean University. She is a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and holds state licenses in Virginia and California. She is certified in the Natural Language Acquisition framework for gestalt language processors and the PROMPT treatment method for those with motor speech disorders like apraxia or dysarthria. Throughout her career, she has gained experience in a variety of settings with populations spanning from infant to adult. Most recently, she has provided services to children severely impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder and utilized an interdisciplinary approach to best serve this population. Her areas of interest include language-based learning disabilities, speech sound disorders, and facilitating social-pragmatic development, most specifically with pediatric populations. She practices based on the quote by Lev Vygotsky, " A child's greatest achievements are possible in play." She sees clients exclusively through teletherapy, or virtual sessions.
Carrie is a SLP with more than 30 years of experience working with children in the public schools. She obtained both her bachelor's and master's degree from CSU-Northridge. She has advocated and provided speech/language therapy for students who exhibited difficulties in the areas of articulation, language, voice and fluency. She collaborated and consulted with parents and classroom teachers in the management of speech/language disorders. She has supervised undergraduates, interns, paraprofessionals and volunteers. Carrie also served as President of the Monterey County Speech Language Hearing Association for several years and is a lifetime member of the American Speech Hearing Association. She has presented classes at the Monterey County Office of Education in therapy techniques, as well as in the school system. Carrie aims to help children know not only how to communicate but why communication is important. She wants them to be clearly understood, be able to form bonds between people, and become contributing members of their community. Carrie recently retired and will be working part time for CCLLC. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and seeing the country and meeting new people.
Melanie is an East Coast native, who received her B.S. and M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. Melanie is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and continues to treat telehealth patients in California after living there for five years. With two decades of pediatric experience in multiple speech therapy settings, Melanie now specializes in treating language disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, articulation disorders and auditory processing disorders, using client-specific and evidence-based approaches. She also holds a Certificate in Early Intervention Center for Child and Human Development from Georgetown University's Continuing Education Studies. Melanie is a certified mindfulness meditation teacher who brings play-based mindfulness practices into her speech sessions with kids and into parent training home programs. When not helping kids and families communicate, she is often outside enjoying nature or creating in the kitchen.
Lauren is a native of North Carolina where she received her master's degree in Speech- Language Pathology from Appalachian State University. She is a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and holds licenses in North Carolina and California. Throughout her practice as a clinician, Lauren has gained experience in a variety of settings serving a range of clients, from toddlers to geriatrics. Lauren discovered a fondness for early intervention language therapy as well as a passion for working with speech-sound disorders, phonology and social-pragmatic language development in school-age children. Lauren loves getting to know her clients and having the opportunity to use her creativity to tailor sessions to a client's needs so it is enjoyable and constructive. One of her favorite parts of being an SLP is the feeling she gets to share with a client when they overcome a previously challenging communication task, or display a new communication/language skill. When Lauren isn't busy being a SLP, she enjoys reading, exercising, cooking, hiking, and playing with her nieces and nephews.
Kara attended the University of Georgia, where she received dual degrees in Spanish and Communication Sciences and Disorders, and Florida State University for her master's degree. Kara enjoys working with English-speaking and Spanish-speaking children and adults. Kara is certified in Vital Stim, Visual Phonics, and AEIOU feeding specialty. She has taken several courses on hearing loss and its impact on children's speech language development. She specializes in AAC speech-generating devices, articulation, autism spectrum disorder, pragmatics/social language, early intervention, fluency/stuttering, swallowing/feeding disorders, and language disorders. Her hobbies include snorkeling, paddle boarding, and triathlons.
Elia is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist who values the ability to support the whole child and bring family priorities front and center in the therapeutic process. Elia is experienced in teaching communication skills across a wide range of ages and diagnoses, and particularly enjoys supporting skills in language, literacy, fluency, social communication, and multimodal communication. With a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Emerson College and certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), Elia brings both clinical expertise and compassionate care to every client interaction. With experience in schools, private practice, and outpatient neuro rehabilitation, Elia creates therapy plans that are personalized, evidence based and grounded in meaningful goals for life participation. Guided by the belief that communication is central to connection, Elia is inspired by the words of communication theorist Paul Watzlawick: "One cannot not communicate." This principle recognizes that every behavior, every gesture, and every attempt to connect matters deeply in the therapeutic process for fostering communication. Known for using a collaborative, strengths-based approach, Elia's favorite part of her role as a speech-language pathologist is watching children's self-confidence and independence blossom as they build meaningful communication skills.
Doris graduated with a master's degree from Long Beach State University with a major in Communicative Disorders (Speech Therapy). Her training involved regular elementary schools with special education classes (aphasia), Long Beach VA Hospital with stroke patients and a specialized intense preschool clinical training program at Long Beach State, which included parents, teachers and occupational therapists. She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and a California Licensed Speech Therapist. Doris has had varied experience with children from infants, pre-schoolers to High School. She began her career in L.A. City Schools where she specialized in assessing, diagnosing and treating infants and preschoolers in a team approach with Physical Therapists, Psychologists, Educators and Parents. She also worked with children who were diagnosed with Autism, Developmentally Delayed and ADHD. Treatment included knowledge of receptive/expressive language disorders, pragmatic disorders, articulation, voice and fluency disorders. She then moved to Monterey where she began working at Monterey County Schools in the Infant, Pre-school and Head Start Programs. She then retired and began working part-time for Central Coast Language & Learning Center specializing in the younger populations.
Helga received her master's degree in speech-language pathology from California State University Monterey Bay. Her clinical foundation began as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) specializing in pediatrics, a passion she continued to develop throughout her graduate studies. Her clinical background spans private practice, acute care, and outpatient services, including a specialized medical externship in pediatrics. Helga is fluent in English, Ukrainian, and Russian, allowing her to provide culturally responsive care. In her free time, she loves going to the ocean, drinking matcha, reading books, and spending time with her soon-to-be husband, Myk.
Griscel received her master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University, Monterey Bay. Before becoming a speech-language pathologist, she worked in special education, where she first developed an interest in neurodiversity-affirming approaches. Through her fieldwork experience, she has had the opportunity to work in local schools, clinics, and acute care, specializing in pediatric language, aphasia, cognition, dysphagia, and voice disorders. Griscel is bilingual in English and Spanish and has a special interest in working with multicultural and bilingual individuals across the lifespan. In her spare time, she enjoys watching documentaries, trying out new foods and recipes, and visiting her family in Los Angeles.
Isabel is a Spanish-English bilingual who grew up in the Salinas Valley. She received a M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University, Monterey Bay. She has experience working with bilingual patients in fluency, AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), articulation, cognition, receptive and expressive language. She enjoys incorporating neurodiverse affirming approaches through play-based therapy and aims to become a specialist in AAC and feeding/swallowing throughout the lifespan. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, baking, swimming, and spending time with her family.
Mandi is passionate about early childhood speech and language development, especially for children with complex communication needs. She earned a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Rush University and a bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois. Mandi's experiences include a Fulbright Scholarship teaching English to children in Spain and serving as a Research Assistant at the University of Chicago, where she investigated the developmental outcomes and unmet needs of medically complex children.
Her graduate clinical training included placements at the Rush Neurobehavioral Center, Rush University Medical Center's Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, and within Chicago Public Schools' dual language programs. Additionally, she gained holistic clinical skills through a LEND fellowship, which focuses on providing comprehensive care for children with developmental/intellectual disability.
Mandi's comprehensive understanding of child development guides a therapy approach that supports the whole child. Being fluent in both English and Spanish, Mandi believes that being bilingual is a superpower and is committed to fostering bilingual language development in a way that is representative of cultural values.
Outside of work, Mandi enjoys exploring Northern California, attending baseball games, and spending time with her dog. Mandi also enjoys cooking and trying different coffee shops to discover the best cappuccinos.
Yakelin is a first generation Mexican-American student born and raised in Santa Cruz, Calif. She is earning her Master of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology at California State University Monterey Bay. She was motivated to enter the field of speech-language pathology due to a love of learning, language, and connection. Throughout her life she has enjoyed learning about different cultures, languages, how language is processed in the brain, and more. She is interested in working with individuals across the lifespan and eager to utilize her bilingual skills to serve the community. While most of her experience is in the schools, she looks forward to furthering her clinical skills regarding cognition, motor speech, and feeding and swallowing. In her free time she enjoys reading, listening to music of all genres, spending time with her loved ones, and drinking matcha.
Bianca grew up in Monterey County and is currently obtaining her associate degree in Psychology. She brings knowledge in medical front office scheduling, customer service and patient care to our team. She is hard-working and empathetic, and strives to make our office a comfortable environment for our patients and their families. With experience in making people feel welcomed, she will always aim to put a smile on your face.
Caitlan brings multiple years of billing and revenue cycle management experience to the CCLLC team. She is very passionate about the work that she does and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in healthcare management at MSU Denver. As revenue cycle manager, she strives for operational excellence, and aspires to create lasting and meaningful relationships with CCLLC patients through a patient-centered philosophy. When not working, Caitlan loves creating art. Living in Colorado, she has inspiration all around her with the beautiful landscapes. She also enjoys spending summers at the lake and hiking with her chihuahua, Theo.
Krystal is originally from Yuma, Arizona and has lived on the Central Coast for 16 years. She comes to the CCLLC team with eight years of experience in front office operations and billing. She holds an associate's degree in sociology and is a mother of three, which she credits for her empathic and compassionate approach to working with families and their insurance companies. She shares CCLLC's patient-centered philosophy and aims to provide excellent service to her community. Krystal is one of our bilingual team members, and enjoys being a sports mom in her free time.
Schae currently has an associate's degree in Psychology and is also working toward her bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She loves movies and spending quality time with her family and friends over a movie night. She is very motivated and looks forward to overcoming any challenge she is faced with. As the office manager at CCLLC, Schae is excited to bring guidance and be a bright light to her coworkers, patients, and their families.
Amelia is currently going to school and taking accounting class in the Sacramento area. While she was enrolled in her high school's leadership program, she gained valuable experience working with children through visiting an elementary school and helping first-graders improve their reading and writing skills. Amelia currently resides in Lincoln, Calif. but enjoys traveling. In her free time, she loves to go on adventures with her friends and family as well as her dog, Maggie. She is excited for opportunity to work as CCLLC's authorization coordinator.
