We provide a diverse range of specialized speech therapy services for people of all ages. We also partner with local occupational therapists, teachers, physical therapists and primary care doctors, and other members of your health care team, in order to provide you with comprehensive care.

A Family-Centered Approach

CCLLC has always prioritized a family-centered approach to speech therapy, involving family members in a client's care at every step. We want family members to be fully present for both in-person and virtual therapy sessions, and learn the strategies and techniques alongside their child or loved one, not simply observe them. Parents know their child best, and children naturally desire engagement with their parents. Through guided training and instruction from our therapists, parents learn strategies to engage their child, which leads to better outcomes. Read more about our approach.

Please note: Services listed below are offered at both our Monterey and Santa Cruz locations, and most are also available virtually through our secure telehealth platform. Eligibility for virtual services is determined at initial evaluation.

Our Services:

  1. Speech-Language Therapy

Speech-Language Therapists (CCC-SLP) are specialists trained to facilitate speech and language development and treat language and speech disorders. Language is essential to communication and learning. Speech therapy targets receptive and expressive language including vocabulary, listening comprehension, following directions, oral and written expression. Speech Therapists at Central Coast Language and Learning Center Speech Pathology provide individuals and their families with strategies and solutions for resolving communication difficulties.

  2. Adult Services

Our Speech-language pathologists evaluate and treat adult patients with a range of impairments including augmentative and alternative communication systems (AAC), apraxia, hearing loss, neurological disorders, stroke, stuttering, and traumatic brain injury. Speech-language pathologists work closely with family members to help individuals facilitate functional communication in everyday settings. We work with insurance companies and local agencies to provide the community with these services.

  3. Pediatric Feeding Therapy

Pediatric Feeding Therapy + Infant Swallowing Therapy: Our speech-language pathologists help address problems with breastfeeding, bottle feeding positioning, suck-swallow-breathe mechanics, and more. We evaluate and treat children with neuromuscular deficits, sensory feeding disorders, feeding disorders due to prematurity or medical co-morbidities leading to feeding disorders and other conditions that affect swallowing. Through a wide range of techniques, therapists help children learn optimal swallowing and feeding skills.

  4. Parkinson's Support

Our team is trained to facilitate SPEAK OUT!® and The LOUD Crowd®, programs that originate from the Parkinson Voice Project. SPEAK OUT! includes individual speech therapy sessions to strengthen the muscles used for speaking and swallowing, and teaches adults how to "speak with intent." After completing this program, adults move into the The LOUD Crowd. This maintenance program occurrs in a group therapy setting and includes a singing program to help adults maintain the strength of their voices.

  5. Telehealth

For patients who move away or are unable to travel to our center, we offer telehealth sessions via live-stream video. We know the value and progress that comes from consistent care, and with telehealth there is no interruption in therapy or change in therapist. This service also helps us address issues in the home environment for those working on feeding skills, home skills with limited mobility, or breastfeeding. Telehealth makes our services more accessible, comfortable and consistent for your lifestyle and schedule.

  6. Trainings and In-Services

Ensuring your team is providing the most current and innovative techniques with a strong foundational understanding of best practice is at the forefront of our mission. Our staff is available to provide training to staff, clinicians, and community members regarding services, best practices, research-based interventions and outcome measures. Trainings are available at the Center in Monterey or staff can provide on site support services.

We are proud to announce that we are a Gold Monterey County Family Friendly Employer, certified by Bright Beginnings and the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. More information about the certification.
