Speech Therapy targets receptive and expressive language skills including vocabulary, listening comprehension, following directions, pragmatics, oral and written expression. Speech Therapists at Central Coast Language and Learning Center provide individuals and their families with strategies and solutions for resolving communication difficulties.
CCLLC speech and language therapists work with infants through adults on a variety of communication needs. Therapists analyze each client’s strengths and weaknesses to develop an individualized treatment program. Therapists set goals and objectives to track over treatment.
CCLLC’s philosophy is to provide strong clinical treatment in a relaxed, nurturing environment. Clients make progress when they feel safe and receive positive reinforcement and one-on-one interaction.
Speech therapy sessions are 30, 45 or 60 minutes long. The treatment sessions are goal driven and data based to clearly track improvement and changes in language processing. Therapists receive ongoing training to remain current in the research and methods of treatment.

Home Visits: CCLLC provides home visiting services to help children with identified special needs strengthen their skills and support early learning. Many families with young children with special needs often lack the knowledge, skills, and time to find and access needed support and community resources. Since home visiting delivers services where the family’s life takes place, it is especially useful for families with children with special needs, especially those who may be geographically, socially, or psychologically isolated. In addition, home visiting accommodates families’ needs and schedules and allows the home visitor to better consider family circumstances when tailoring interventions. Home visits are provided on a weekly basis for a period of time determined by the team to train and support parents’ independent use of strategies and appropriate resources to foster measurable gains. CCLLC staff are trained in Hannen, SCERTS, Trans-disciplinary Play-based Intervention, and Floortime. The wealth of training and information available to CCLLC staff evokes a sense of confidence at competence that reassures families they are in good hands.
